Approach and Philosophy
I think it’s very important to personalize the relationships I have with couples that I work with. Having a strong relationship establishes trust and allows you to be yourself in front of me, but more importantly, in front of my camera. The following is a break down of the different elements of wedding photography and how I approach them:
1. Engagement Session
I approach the engagement shoot in a contemporary way, treating them like an editorial photo shoot. I will work with you to brainstorm locations, wardrobe and props. The session usually takes about an hour and a half to two hours. After the session, you will receive modern, fresh and fun engagement photos that you would be proud to share with your family and friends.
2. Getting Ready
The “getting ready” images are glimpses into some of the intimate moments of the day. This is when I capture, in an unobtrusive way, the really precious moments that unfold in anticipation of the ceremony. This is also where I capture the details, such as your wedding dress, ring, jewelry and shoes in an artistic, unique way.
I photograph wedding ceremonies in a documentary style, capturing the genuine, memorable emotions and moments of the day while being as quiet and invisible as I can be.
4. Portraits: Bridal Party | Family | Bride and Groom
My ability to communicate and build a connection with people will make you, your family and bridal party feel comfortable and relaxed, resulting in images that look natural and genuine. I like to photograph these portraits in unique, interesting locales for a modern take on a decades-old tradition. I will suggest a variety of poses and movements, and elicit positive emotions to create images that are full of life.
I arrive an hour before the start of your reception so that I can capture all the detail shots, covering menus, place settings, centerpieces, name cards, candles, followers, overall venue shots and the cake. After you’re married, these detail shots will remind you of how beautiful your wedding was. During the reception, I will have the reception itinerary handy to ensure I am fully prepared to capture all the key events.
Ultimately, my goal is to provide brides in the Greater Toronto Area and beyond the very best in Toronto wedding photography.
